Amp Sim MegaShootout!
***update****
Here is the RPP, just grab this and life should be way easier http://shup.com/Shup/211040/megatest.zip
***end update***
OK, I made some clean tracks to test all sorts of different amp sim plugins
Here's the DI one guitar is hard left the other is hard right
The DI tracks are below
http://shup.com/Shup/210092/shootout-clean.wav
The DI tracks are above
Now, This isnt anything super exact, as there are sooooo many variables involved, but at least it should give an idea of the tones available
PLEASE feel free to add your own examples using the supplied files!
Let me know if I'm wasting my time or if you guys find this sort of thing useful, if it makes sense Ill post more in a bit, and the chains I used for each if anyone is interested

What are you doing for cabs? Something sounds very stereo on some of these. I think chains would be super helpful.
I'll make some guitar rig 3 versions if I can duplicate your cab...

What IR are you using - what is the chain as well?
The RobRokken 808 is scooped at 550Hz

Razor added
here's the RPP for it http://shup.com/Shup/210219/razor.RPP
The other files are pretty much the same, same impulse except in plugins that had their own cab sims like revalver, jcm900 and juicy77

Most interesting in that series for me:
The last one, Acme Bar Gig Razor, sounded soloed too middish for me... but as soon as the drums come in it seems to be just right.
That reminds me to my old fights with guitar players when it comes to mixdown: "Solo my guitar! ... Oh NO! Its not phat enough! We have to re-record this, my stack in real sounds soooo much better!"

Can't access shup files; every time I try to download I get a different filesize, and none of them plays.

Pipe - Would it be more accurate to use the same cab and impulse for each?
Even if you're using a sim with built in cab modeling, you can diable the onboard cab and use an external IR - might be easier to point out the distinguishing features of each sim that way.
Also - it might be cool to post up the DI's your using, so everyone can experiment with the same material.
So, if you can post the IR and the DI, maybe even a track template - everyone could be on the same page.
There are a few others not mentioned:
Nick Crow 8505
Nick Crow 7170
LePau Solo C
Dirthead
PS - this is an awesome idea!

pipline, in your wave there is a hidden secret i'd like to know
you don't need any effect, to distort it.
what for sure you don't have to search for effects in the web,
you allready have them in JS.
(any way thank you for the knoledge, it helps).
what the secret in your wave , make it so easy to distort ?
actually, what i'm after, is how to produce, a synth wave, that it'll be easy do distort, as your wave.
so far, i tried my best with no success.
i successed, with several plugins, to make something,
but not with one simple JS distortion effect, as with your wave.

I'm not sure what exactly you are referring to. Theres a plugin called "TS- Secret" on the first example file, but not the others. Im going to put the Razor RPP in the first post so its easier to see how I did it

Here's a slightly cranked up stereo version from a Revalver MKIII bank called Le Petite and preset called On Stage.
http://shup.com/Shup/210516/Le-Petite-On-Stage.mp3
I just used one clip (centred) and ran it in stereo through Revalver. I think that's OK because Revalver can deal with stereo files.

Here's LiteOn's brand new JS, FARModulator, wherein an external signal can act as a modulator in an FM system. Tweak the setting just right, add a "fake" cab sim using a 12dB resonant filter, and you get this:
http://stashbox.org/620827/LiteOn%20...aked%20Cab.mp3
Just trying to show there's more than one way to get an interesting tone.

Okay, for something a little (well, a lot) less synthy, here's the Emerald FalconHead JS, contributed by new member Destructavator. It also uses a 12dB resonant filter as a "faked" cab emulator.
