Default Comping/vocal take color

Just got finished comping my first vocal with Reaper.
I love the flawless edits, even deep in words.
And thank you all for the help getting me started.
ANyway, it reminded me of something I wanted in paris, to be able to color code media as opposed to tracks, that way While looking at my comp vocal, I can tell quickly where each segment came from.
Another words, the media keeps the same color code no matter what track it is on.
Is this possible?

You can right click then Item Settings, Set Color

or/and you can set tint
backgrounds under Options. Pref, Appearance, Media

but not sure that's what you want ....
