Default Not seeing a .dll....Any ideas?

I've tried everything I can think of. Re scannned the plugs, moved the .dll in and out of foldres etc.
Has anybody ever had a .dll the Reaper just can't see?
The .dll in question is the new Decaptator demo.
Suggestions??

Default Maybe??

henge,

It's been awhile since this has happened... I've had Reaper 'see' the .dll, but it wasn't 'named' what I was expecting so I didn't see it listed until I went through all the plugs and found the strangely named plug.

Several... typically happens with plugs that need to install to set up stuff, folders with presets, registry settings, what-nots, and that I extract and drop into my plug folder... If they cannot initialize when Reaper calls them, the really bad ones crash, the bad ones simply do not register with Reaper and so does not show up.

Suggestions...
Run the installer (again).
Check it's not a x64 dll.

EDIT: And, yeah, what bluzkat says... sometimes the plugs show up with very different names than what you'd expect...

Soundtoys' Decapitator? It's iLok protected. If Reaper doesn't recognize it it's because the authorization was not completed. When you finish your authorization just re-scan and Reaper will detect it.

Thanks Mercado, I'll check to see if the authorizations are correct. They seemed to install ok!

Just verifying if you cleared the vst cache and rescanned the vst's. That usually is what is necessary in this type of situation IME
