Default Tascam Dm-4800 with Reaper

Hi, I have the firewire card installed in my Dm-4800, which will yield me 32 tks audio to and fro. Correct?
Also using the Dm-4800 as a controller what would I plug the midi cable into in my PC? do I need to get a card or something for my PC? Thanks Mike

Yes you would need to purchase a midi in/out to USB interface. They are quite cheap these days

Something like the E-mu XMIDI 1x1 tab 29.99
you think that will work?

it will take care of the midi between the tascam and reaper for sure!

It seems the DM-4800 supports the MCU control surface protocol.
Once you get midi to work, select 'Mackie Control Universal' from the control surface menu in reaper for the first 8 faders. Select 'Mackie Control Extender' for faders 9-16 and 17-24, make sure you adjust the offset accordingly.

The user 'Klinke' has also written an extended MCU control surface plugin that controls sends etc. But i am not sure if this will work correctly with the tascam.
