I thought screen sets would do the job. But I found no success doing it.
I guess you'd have to load the midi editor and rapidly press Control+Shift plus the UP arrow like 3 times to have it that size you are showing (for every project you create, but apparently it will stay that way for every project you create). I think to do this you need SWS extensions but maybe you don't need those.

So, it's a no biggie doing that, it only takes a second.

Unfortunately, I have no solution to offer. But I would like to add a comment that I also spend too much time resetting/resizing the MIDI editor. A "last view" feature with regard to setting the size of the grid would be welcome.

Regards,

DB

On looking at this a little closer it appears that each MIDI item does retain its grid sizing upon subsequent opening in the MIDI editor. The problem with maintaining a "last view" feature across all items would be where to vertically position the grid when opening new items. One vertical placement may be inappropriate for others so you're back to scrolling and repositioning.

But perhaps this "last view" concept in regard to grid sizing could be applied to new items within the same track (as they are likely to be applicable to the same vertical positioning)?

Regards,

DB
