Maybe it's just me but I have always had a hard time telling if a clip is selected or not.

The color a track changes to when selected does not stand out enough to me to tell if it is highlighed or not.

I alway end up deleted the wrong track or when selecting a group of clips to copy and paste I always seem to leave on clip out or take one with me that I did not want.

I'm sure there is an option somewhere to maybe change "all selected clips to GREY" or something like that. But I have not figured it out yet.

I think in the other program I was used to using when ever a clip was selected it went to the default gray. Just like in Reaper if you highlight a section of a song in the time line for say looping how all the selected tracks change to that darkened color.

I realize that this my be counter productive in some other way that I'm not thinking off but it was just on my mind so.

do you like this?

i mean there the selected clip has a white wave - instead of colored.

To tell the truth no it's still hard for me to tell. Maybe I need they eye test with the red/green thing again LOL!

That display you posted in the other thread with the Rolland clips where the color stays the same but it's just darkend looks awesome.

thanks

Easy to see what is select here. At least for me. The darker clip just stand out.

I guess I see the glass half empty LOL!!

i have the same problem. even if i know the color of a selected item it still doesn't really stand out. why no bold border (with customizable color) for selected items?

In the image Beatny bit posted I tend to think the darker green portion is the selected item.

I think when you have a white background and that is the larger area the eye is draw to that, and then you darken it you notice that contrast more that changing the color of the waveform.

Meaning a white changing to grey verses a green changing to a darker green.

I'm sure someone somewhere specializes in this. Microsoft probably has a "Visual Engineering Designer" or something like that LOL!! You'd have to do a study conduct polls, do blind comparision testing (pun).LOL!!

oh, and do you see the volume slider has a darker color below the fader?

it gives me a more straight visual feedback on volume settings.

i love it. so little, but so nice effect, imo.

Hey Thanks for your input.

I have never seen Vegas but yes I like the way the colors and the selection look compared to what is going on in Reaper now.

But, I'm sure I will get used to how Reaper does it too if I work long enough in it.

I'm still amazed that Justin take all these comments and runs with them. Bless you Justin. WWJD What Would Justin Do LOL!!
