That's very cool, soothing and funny wadosy, and quite strange in a good way. I'd listen to more of that if there was any

Is that you singing, in a talking sorta way. I love that

Needs a fuzzy guitar though ;)

...Needs a fuzzy guitar though ;)

thank you, ted.

i'm not much of a guitar player or an arranger... i apparently dont have the right kind of imagination, so i let listeners fill in the good stuff.

i'm very glad you find it soothing and funny.

I rarely listen to the end of anything posted, but I did this song, just to see what would happen. I think that says a lot about the quality of the song - the singing style and the story in the lyrics. The music is not a feature, obviously, but its role is more carpeting anyway.

Wadosy, if you made an album of this kind of material, you would probably sell a considerable amount, if not also get some radio play. It's a novelty, and your voice is unique enough to carry it.

Good luck.

Very wise, leave plenty of room, so listeners can fill in the gaps

Not joking, gaps, silence, repetition will actually do that. Shit, I wish I could remember that myself

It's the voice and story that makes it though. You can't post the lyrics can you?

...Good luck.

it's too late for luck... i'm just doing what seems to be what i'm supposed to do, and selling records is not a factor.

it's probably some kind of ego thing... leaving something behind.

You can't post the lyrics can you?

yeah, i can...

well, i think i'll start a band and i think i need a hand
sortin out just what the hell i need
so i hit the local sound store and the fella on the floor there
said stick with me, we'll have you up to speed

he says first you need some hope and a little bit of dope
and players and a case or two of beer
then you need a van and a hundred thousand fans
and finally, you gotta have the gear

i said what about the talent he says that can all be balanced
by this gadget here i'll show you how it works
sure enough he did it, took my 20 grand and hid it
i drove right home and started to rehearse

so i'm standin on the stage it's a weekend long engagement
it's sleazy but my agent says it's fine
then in walks this chick and if it wasnt for the hickies
i think i woulda lost my mind

well, sure she starts to grinnin, she's thinkin of some sin or other
i guess i did a little grinnin back
but then in walks her fella or maybe her gorilla
whatever, i think he might attack

the girl just gets obscener the guy keeps lookin meaner
i'm stuck here like a ducky on a pond

well, they said i could drive nails with this mic and if it fails
bring it back they'll fix it free of charge
but is bustin brutes included cause i need to conk this dude
and i wonder if the guarantee's that large

well, the place wound up a shambles cops came with my mirandas
and for 30 days my bookins will be bent
so i guess i'll just relax and i guess that i'll be back
cause the microphone survived without a dent

the "third stage burnout" used to be a song on its own, but i've forgotten most of it.

Very nice!

thank you.

there's things we're supposed to deal with
things i spose we're not
depends on what we're given
not on what we've got

i'll deal with my delusions
spooks and noisy nights
pardon my confusion
i'll probly be all right

third stage burnout
pity the poor dumb beast

i fly from evil spirits
fueled by kerosene
no foolin now i fear it
but oh the sights i've seen
but then i lost my temper
controls went all askew
i'd be ten million pieces
if it weren't for loving you

third stage burnout
pity the poor dumb beast

Loved this alot nice layed back relaxing feel.

can`t say i`d agree that it needs a fuzzy guitar part i would keep it as it is but maybe i`m just hearing it differently, anyway what are you using to get the guitar sound i loved that sound i could do something with that.

i agree a unique voice.i`d say you could easily do a Chris Rea style kinda thing..

...what are you using to get the guitar sound...

it's a digitech RP80...

after playing acoustic for fifty or sixty years, this is the first electric i've played...

it's going in wet through an old digitech RP80 that the bandit store owner included in the deal when he overcharged me $150 for the guitar, which is a epiphone les paul standard.

not reccommended to go in wet, but i'm trying to simplify things... after listening to the song for a while, i'm inclined to think there's a bit too much reverb, but i'm too lazy to fool with it.

it was a weird experience, buying that guitar... i hadnt played anything for a few years, and bar chords and other stuff was so easy that i was hooked...

...plus the electric eliminates all those "vocal bleeding into the guitar mic" problems.

do you know christy moore? ...he explains another problem at about 5:00 into the video below... he says he never plays a song the same way twice, and when he's plaaying along with other people, presumably including himself, the others have no idea where the song's going next, because he doesnt know, himself... so that's another argument for going in vocal and guitar at the same time.

There is nothing wrong about knowing what you want up front and commiting to it. :) Many cannot do that, hence 1 billion options after the fact.
