I opened Reaper from the taskbar shortcut and it half loaded up, I then got a popup window that said some .dll file was inaccessible and it was one of those really annoying ones that keeps popping up no matter how many times you click 'ok' and just won't go away and sits on top of everything. I restarted my PC and it's working fine now, it was just really annoying. The only thing I'd done to my system since last using Reaper was to defrag the hard drive and install an update for Firefox (which I can't imagine would change anything).

I thought I'd put it here instead of the bug part of the forum as it just fixed it self but it was annoying to restart my PC. I wouldn't of posted anything about it but I could have lost some work I was doing for college if I hadn't saved just before opening Reaper.

Hi there - understandable that you are frustrated, but there is not going to be much anyone can do to help unless you tell us what it actually said!

There are many DLL files in the PC and very few have anything to do with REAPER.. every VST & VSTi has a DLL for starters, so even if it's an error that appears while opening REAPER it could quite easily be that a plug-in file has become corrupt.

If you re-open and it says it again make a note of the details and check that each message that comes up is exactly the same and not a slightly different DLL name for instance.

Good luck...

Yeah I thought as much, but thought I may as well let people know anyway, if it does happen again I'll write it down.
