peaks of selected items were drawn in the bgcolor of unselected ones

why the hell ? (i can't see any good reason for that and building really homogen looking light colorthemes doesn't go well with that behavior)

same for the muted tracks. all items getting colored darker but it would be much better for light colorthemes if they would get lighter. (optional for sure)

i wrote this several times:

"media item background when selected in loop selection" option is needed
"media item peaks when selected in loop selection" has to be fixed

then it would be fine imo.

it happens allways not only in the loop. hopefully that gets fixed someday and yes that additional solor should be in there too,

if i like to use itemtinting the logic seems as follow:

unselected items:
peaks are drawn in the choosen color.
background drawn some percent lighter.

selected items.
background is draw with the chosen color
peaks are drawn with the "media item background" set in colortheme !!!

in loop:
selected items mixing somhow with the "track background in loop selection (odd/even tracks)"

unselected items are mixing with the mediaitem background (in loop selection) !!!!

2 things arent possible now:
you can't use dark peaks in selected items without reverting the logic of selected/unselected of the default coloringtheme

you can't use light backgroundcolors and dark peaks in selected items are nearly impossible as you would need very low and dark contrasted items in the non tinted itemcolors.

and that is simply all not very logical

and when tint bg and peaks of items are selected in the options, coloring shouldn't depend on the default itemcolors. it should depend only at the bg colors of the tracks and the loops
