I'm really delighted with getting access to the Section params in the Item Props box (thanks!) - it makes real sense to have that info visible on the same window as the other params.
My thought is that since you would only turn that check on when *not* using the full file, it would make much more sense if when you turned it on it set the params to match the current *item* start & length, rather than the whole source file size.. as I say you just wouldn't a reason to switch it on if you were just going to use the whole file (although it makes sense that the greyed out figures show the full file length initially)
At present there is no simple, direct way to set the parameter values to the item - you have to manually enter the start in source and length values.
I think Tallisman also made the point about an action to set the section params to item length (to avoid having to set up loop sel & copy loop of.. etc) - that would also help.
Hopefully this will all be explained in the manual for those unfamiliar with the possibilities created by this powerful looping feature within REAPER.
