I know people here have said Reaper starts faster than X and other such stuff... well not for me. On my studio system Reaper is about 50% slower than Cubase starting up.
It takes a LONG time to scan through my plugins. Nitpick.
Just wondering why that is.

Go to Prefs > Plugins > VST and un-check "Get VST plug-in names/types when scanning". I have found turning that off makes Reaper start up waaaayyy faster.
NOTE: If you add a new plugin, you will need to let Reaper do a full scan by re-enabling that option for one pass... then you can disable it again.
