This discussion started over in the Compatability Forum: http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=14041 Thought I'd move it over here, where it probably also belongs.

I just bought a Logitech Wireless MX Revolution. Cool mouse with extra buttons which could potentially speed up workflow in Reaper if only they could be assigned, but apparently this is not possible using the included Setpoint software. There's a modification to that software, something called UberOptions that adds functionality to the extra buttons, but it still doesn't seem to help much in Reaper.

Getting these buttons to function would be great, and as such this would be more of a feature request I suppose, but there is also one other problem associated with this that clearly puts this in a "constant annoyance" category: the "concurrent zoom and scroll" problem.

No matter what you do, how you set up the mouse, when you try to zoom in on tracks, it scrolls at the same time. This, over time, will just drive you nuts.....

I can live without extra functionality, but if the scroll/zoom problem can't be fixed I'll have to chuck the brand new $100.00 mouse, and buy a new, less functional one. Not ideal. Oh well....

Er, well, not entirely... On further testing, I've found the "fix" renders the scroll function useless in other programs, so it's not much of a fix at all. So sorry...
