There's something in the air these days. Its a "get-off-your-ass-and-complete-your-projects" kinda vibe.

Im satisifed with this one : a post punk / gothic feel pervades the thing, and its got a certain raw energy while still being reasonably produced. But I could be wrong and it may actually be just my usual crap.

Anyways I would love and appreciate some comments especially the vocals and general mixing.

ps: I'm especially happy of the grungy harmonies halfway in, and the organ solo that follows :D

LYRICS

Take a walk with some of my friends
Reckless, gutter bound and dead ends

There aint much they haven't done
destroying innocent lives in the name of fun

There's a darkness in their eyes
Like a man whose seen his own demise

Once you've hit the bottom
No place left to go
When you've hit rock bottom
Yer breathing just for show

Man, you described it right on: Punk/Gothic. got both vibes super strong. what the hell's happening at 1:18? love that. organ solo--tops--but could have went on a bit longer for me.

Thanks sammy !!
1:18 is a clean-ish lead gtr with some wah...rhythm is sidestick based with bass gtr arpeggios... Does it sound odd ?

Would love to have you do vocals on a track ... You have a great voice !

Hell yea suelieman. This is my favorite from you so far.

Vocals and mix - vox is a little AM radio'ish (no bottom and mono), and the guitars have no lows or highs. I think that working on those two issues could go a long way.

This is one unique track. I especially like how the lyrics and music complement each other so well.

Now I just have to paint the walls in my computer room black and crank this song up... ;-)

Thank you for the comments ! I will the vocals more spread and have to do something with distr guitars. They were meant to be raw but sit oddly in the slicker backdrop.

For me it's the guitars and the vocal layering that I like best, and that's on top of pretty damn good drums, and the overall dark vibe and imagination. Oh yeah, and the organ solo is good, you should be proud.

<takes a bow> thank you soo much hamish !!

Song was recorded in a day.
Vocals done on another day.
Mixed on another day.

So that's around 2 hr/ day into 3 days = 6 hrs and done.

I really am thankful for Reaper and the HUGE amount of help given by forum members for getting me there.
From zero to done track in 6 hours is like a dream :).

I have found excessive takes and mix tweaking saps the song's energy. So less is good for me.
