I just did this super fast on my phone because I was late for work but didn't want to forget what was in my head. I have spent like 5 hours on 3 seconds of a song but, for some reason, I really really like the vibe of this. Maybe I'm in the honeymoon phase and will change my mind later. It's only like one minute long. It's just the bridge of a song I'm working on. Do you ever just fall in love with a little tiny idea? I did today:

Lyrics:
Just sweet enough, to keep me around
You're not sweet enough, to be around.
You're Just sweet enough, to keep me around
You're not sweet enough, to be around.
You're Just sweet enough, to keep me around
You're not sweet enough, to be around.
You're Just sweet enough, to keep me around
You're not sweet enough, to be around... me.

yes absolutely.

It's got it. It's the type of idea that's good get down quick before it mutates slightly.

Nice one

Yup, the melody and harmony has "the thing" that writers always hope to craft. Excellent.

Also, it is a GREAT idea to get everything you (not you, pixeltarian, you the greater you) come up with down in a clip. I have forgotten so many ideas 10 minutes after I had them. Since starting to record all my ideas on a little hand held recorder, I have equal moments of "oh, man that is terrible" and "wow, that needs to be turned into a song", when listening back.

Yup. This could be a killer song.

hhhahaa. my brain added "Now don't f*ck it up!" to the end of that.

This the very very first time playing this song all the way through and capturing it. Probably like the 3rd time playing through ever. but this is the whole song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_42Pe9JOwc&feature=youtu.be

Lyrics:

I’m like a dog you own
trusty but never equal
I appreciate your bones
and I might be the only one
who appreciates your bones.
You throw me a smile
a lie
I know it every time
but I can see what lies behind
your eyes
deep inside your bones
my heart
deep inside your bones
you’ll find out
when you’re all alone
that I was your servant
and you sat upon the throne
of my heart
and deep inside your bones
you’ll find out
I’m your only home
you’ll find out
only when I’m gone
I was never a slave
I was only hanging on
to the wishes we had
deep inside your bones (x3)

I know you, I'm not sure I can know you any more than I do.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I can know you anymore.
See, I believe you love me, and I've got no reason to.
I believe you love me, and I've got no reason to.

You're just sweet enough
to keep me around
But not sweet enough
to be around
You're just sweet enough
to keep me around
but not sweet enough
to be around... me.

he he he
he he he he
he he he

You're like a thread of gold
cast upon my crown
refractions of light
threw it to the ground
not to mention the hook
forever in my mouth
you didn't put it there but please take it out
you're the only one who can do that now
'casue I don't have the strength to be without
your heart, deep inside my bones
your eyes, deep inside my bones
I've buried you, deep inside my bones
you're the only one, deep inside my bones.
deep inside my bones (x3)
bones, bones, bones, bones

he he he
he he he he
he he he
he he he he

You're not sweet enough to be around... me

your voice has an interesting intonation. it's kind of melancholic, but it's got that something. so, nice work. too bad the full version doesn't have those bells from the 'take' version. they really do the trick :P

I still haven't listened yet, but reading the lyrics was a treat, very cool stuff. I'll keep watching this space.

Sounds great! Pretty funny listening to the dark cavernous vocal space while seeing the cozy looking, well-lit space that you're actually singing in. But all that aside, this song has a lot of soul. I dig!!
