Picture this...

MacPro with Leopard installed, running Parallels. Parallels has XP (or something) on it, running Reaper with all my plugs (primarily Jamstix). Is it possible to run the Mac version of Reaper as the main DAW session and use ReaMote to use the XP version with the plugs in it?

If not, will JamStix work on the Mac?

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't think that would work.
I think remote uses another CPU not another os

hy not just apply fx as new take in xp
or record the output of jamstix however it works
then load those files into mac reaper

If jamstix is win only, which I dont know

for reamote to work you need the plugin to be installed on both machines, so it might work with cockos and JS plugins (dunno how Parallels handles the network side of things)

Using virtualisation software like Parallels or Fusion works fine for everything but audio work from my experience. I know that ASIO drivers just dont function properly under parallels or fusion and use up too much cpu to give you constant, un interupted playback. With Bootcamp it works fine though, as far as ReaMote between OS's goes I dont know. Remember Steinberg's VST System link? That bridged OS's, I dont know if ReaMote does.

Afaik, ReaMote doesn't need any audio driver to work. If there is a (virtual) network connection between the main OS and the virtual OS, it should work.

I just set up a windows machine running reaper 2.45 and a leo running the same version.
I wanted to try windoofs as slave. It shows up in reaper on my mac, but the plugin list is blank. guess that the used plugs really have to be installed on both mahcines. I have not found something specific in the manual though. Guess I have to check that again. Anyone knows?
