another small midi related nitpick :)
why does "glue selected items" on 2 midi
items stop playback?

If i remember correctly other DAW only
stop when audio items glued.
logic for sure.

IIRC, Cubase doesn't stop for anything.
gluing things.
applying effects.
undoing effects using the offline process history.

I am sure Lawrence will correct me if I ma wrong here.

I was wondering this too.

hey! it's fixed! (almost)
now when you glue while playing it doesn't stop anymore.
too bad it doesn't glue anymore either :)

I run into this when i record in midi overdub mode in
a loop. when you stop recording you end up with too
items instead of one. i hit glue... nothing.

Can't confirm this. Here items get glued fine even during playback.

which version are you running?

v2.55 can't seem to reproduce the can't glue-ing while
running behavior. but i can reproduce the stop-on glue thing.
make a new project make 2 new midi items and try to glue them
while playing in a loop, playback stops. on both my computers.

Okay, can reproduce now. (Still v2.55)
When in (loop) record mode (midi) glue does nothing.
When in (loop) play mode (midi) glue stops playback.
Coming from Logic I am used to it working always
without stopping or glitching playback.

In 3.alpha2b I can't see any problems.
