Rendering lots of mono files with a send to stereo

Hey, new to Reaper here, but not DAWS. I am curious if anyone can help me out, or direct me to a better sub folder. I haven't been able to find an answer via search.

I need to export a bunch of mono files, that I have panned left on the track as new stereo files. The kick, is I need to also have them sent to an aux that is panned right. Ideally I would just be able to render them out that way, checking "selected media items" using the $item wildcard, but that results in the send being ignored, and the file exporting correctly as stereo, the Left channel correct, and the Right channel empty. Any ideas?

End desired result:
A single stereo WAV file
The source file on the Left channel
The sent "fx" sound on the Right channel
The same file name as the original

Not sure I get it but I'll give it a try:

If you send your left source file to a bus and also your right FX channel to same bus, you could ' Render Receive ' of selected track creating your stereo file inside Reaper before exporting. Not sure there is another way of doing this while rendering but it should work as a workaround. What are you trying to do it sounds very uncommon...
