I'm still learning but here's something I've actually finished

Let me know what you think about the mix. I just treated my room a bit with the help of this forum and I can surely tell the difference!

Aw, that ended way to fast :(

Very dreamy and the part when the drums come in makes you want to move. I especially like the second part of the track after 1:20!

I'd love to see a longer version of this, 2:45 is way to short, at least it is in my opinion. But that's entirely up to you of course :)

Good work, i really like it!

Nice! Kinda hypnotic. Pulled me right in...

Thanks guys! I appreciate that a lot. It's almost like I'm cursed with hating my own music. So I'm just glad somebody else enjoyed it.

As for the length, yes. I am going to expand a bit to see what I can do with it since you liked it.

Hey guys. Sorry for the delay. A few days ago I tweaked and came up with a Final final version ;) I swear. Thanks for the nice feedback about the previous versions. It made me happy for a second. It seems a bit harder to sell this style of music here on the forums, a lot more bands and such.

Also if you don't mind me asking, how would you catigorize this track? A sub genre of house? Electro?

I quickly glanced at the thread title and thought that you were asking for the guitarist of a similar name to listen to your stuff!! LOL!!

Haha well dimitrov is a common Turkish and Bulgarian name so I guess it could be someone;)

I like it, it's pretty well done.

I like the break a lot, very hypnotic indeed :)

Thanks Greg!

Do you have any critiques? This was originally over 100 tracks and I stripped down big time to about 60. Do you think it's too bland?

Hey, very nicely crafted! It builds in a way that suits the mood.
A lot of good parts.

What synths did you use for the drums and other instruments?

04-03-2016, 12:13 PM
Thanks bearcub! I appreciate the kind words.

For drums, I ended up layering samples, white noise waves and sine waves. Plus distortion*. Percussion came from distorting layers of conga hits and such.

Synth wise, it was a lot of tweaking with zebra 2 and helix.Zebra played many tricks on my mind during the making of this track.

Uhh, I forgot to flip back to stereo after chacking in mono :) you can find the stereo version at my signature

Yeah, this is good, but...
The solo in the first part is too static to me. It would benefit with some glides between the notes.

And the vocals are too low:)

Joking. Sorry for bad joke;)

Ah, Thanks for the tip about the lead!
