View Full Version : Horizontal Scrolling in Mixer

This definately classifies as a nitpick... not a biggie, but does get a bit annoying after awhile.

I tend to leave the mixer sized to take up the bottom half of my second monitor.
For songs that have more than about 12 tracks, the mixer scrolls off to the right.
I use the mouse scrollwheel to scroll the mixer from left to right.
Works great and i can quickly move from the first to the last track as needed.

However, when the MCP was extended to include the FxList, the mouse-aware area of the MCP wasn't extended.
The end result is that when the mouse is hovering over the FxList, scrolling doesn't work.

Not a biggie, guys. But i have to consider all the time i've wasted trying to scroll while hovering over the FxList.
Usually, it takes a second for me to realize that the mixer isn't scrolling...
then i have to move the mouse down onto the mixer section, scroll, and then move
the mouse back onto the FxList area before continuing work.

I've been using Reaper over a year now. Just think of all the good i could have done
in that wasted time... why, i might well have solved world hungar.

Guess we'll never know. ;)

Anyway, your kind consideration of this (hopefully) minor request is appreciated.

I'm sorry Teej, I'm just not sure I get what you're saying here.

I thought it was quite self-explanatory.

He is saying that if you use the mouse wheel to scroll through the mixer horizontally, it only scrolls if the mouse is over the lower track area, and does not work when the mouse is over the trackfx area.

Spike,

When you hover the mouse over the FX insert section, the mouse scroll-wheel no longer scrolls the mixer left/right. I think it's because the last passed insert slot grabs focus. It would still scroll if the UI waited for the click event to focus an insert slot. (I think...) :)

Sorry fellas, I was just being a silly supercilious arse. It's not big, it's not clever and I'm going to sit on the naughty step now. :(
