I am loving Reaverb a whole lot!

Missed SIR out of all the plugins and everything that I ever had with Windows that was what I missed the most....

But I can't seem to get a clean playback when I monitor with Reaverb on... it crackles and pops and drops out a lot....

Intel iMac with 2GB of ram... should not be an issue right?

A good way to check is to use top or Activity Monitor.

Also, convolution reverbs can make undesirable noises if the impulse audio isn't perfectly clean. If the above shows that your computer has enough CPU, then you might want to examine the impulse file in an editor and make sure it doesn't have any problems.

Try decreasing the Max FFT size... also make sure that the track ReaVerb is on isnt record armed.

Guit Junkie, i'm using an imac w/2Gs of ram

i've been using pipeline's impulses from the resources section, and they're very clean, even on quiet passages. A one second long decay time on a track I just checked was using a little over 5% CPU (using the maximum FFT size)... No clicks or pops, but my material here is very limited (4 trks), if your using a tonne more, you may want to stem your tracks.

Normal playback is just fine!

But I guess I cannot monitor live input with this effect?

i think it depends on your computer but this is a pretty hungry plug in a live monitoring situation.

Why souldn't you be able to monitor thru it?
Just put it on an AUX track and send the audio from your live track, this should work, shouldn't it?

It has a lot of latency and uses CPU in big chunks, both not suitable for live monitoring..

I am having the same problems as guitar j. Not always, but now I have a 16 track project and I have the reaverb in the master track and it sort of hiccups all the time, no matter what impulse I use. The cpu load is somewhere between 15% and 25%. Disk read is approx. 115 kb/s maximum.
When I place the reaverb on every track the cpu load rises to approx. 70%
When I set up a buss track and route all signal to the buss the CPU is back to the original 15% to 25%. There is no distortion. So, we learned that reaverb should better not be placed on the master track? Guess so.

Is reaverb still causing problems when its on the master track ?
