View Full Version : Automatic Project save

For live usage I use an "embedded" Windows PC that does not feature a Monitor, PC-Keyboard or mouse.

To be able to shut the system down properly (without Reaper asking for confirmation to save the project), I disabled the saving by setting the backlog size to 0.

But it might be appropriate to always automatically save the current state of the project when shutting down the PC (and hence Reaper), as during the session I modify lots of DAW Parameters by using the hardware controllers provided by ma setup.

For this there could be an option to save on shutdown without asking.

To avoid unresolvable problems, it would be great if additionally a longer sequence of backup files would be managed instead of just a single RPP-bak file.

Thanks for listening,
-Michael

There's settings for both saving automatically and keeping multiple .RPP-bak in Preferences > Project:

Where is this setting? Thanks.

So "Save to project file here means "When closing project save project file without asking" ?
Supposedly the "native" interpretation is "overwrite project file with save requested by "every nn minutes".

I'll do some tests...

Hmm Reaper sill prompts me when exiting.
When setting "Maximum undo memory use" rto Zero, no prompt, but also no change in the project file and no backup file.

Thanks a lot !
Reaper rocks !

I made a folder in 'Projects' & if I just close a recording without saving it goes to that folder just in case?, it has the Date & Time on it!

32042

Then I used the unsaved line to direct to?.:)

And of course Kenny has a vid for it;https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php#JngUQ7MUEEg

[QUOTE=jI just close a recording without saving it goes to that folder just in case?, it has the Date & Time on it![/QUOTE]

This would be great.

But for this project, I don't do recording. I just modify parameters by external controllers, and when restarting, I'd like to see the last position of all parameter just before closing reaper.

I'll watch the video...
Thanks,
-Michael
