I have used Reaper in the past on a PC do some simple recording sessions and found it to be a nice Multitrack recording option. Now I am using a Macbook Pro and doing hip hop production. I have recently moved away from using an Akai MPC and switched to a MPD24 midi drum pad controller in conjunction with Native Instruments Battery 3 and sequencing in Logic Pro. In addition to this I do use some other various VSTs and a Microkorg.

So, my question is...is the sequencing in Reaper reliable and comparable to that in Logic? Will I have any problems using Battery to store my samples and Launch Battery from within Reaper? Will the transport features on my MPD24 work with Reaper?

No

Reaper is better. Especially with the freeform nature of tracks, you can write an entire groove on one track, cut and paste old school style. It's also more efficient and fast. gets ideas down quick. Logic does have some awesome plugins though.

Battery works like a charm with the latest update too. Drag and drop was an issue. v3.02 is even better

This sounds very exciting! A DAW that will do what I need and more. With a very helpful community here to support the product. Drillbit, are you talking about the current version for OSX? Is it stable enough yet to make the jump?

it is. I use my mpd24 and battery3 with it.

Kainer, do you make all of your music inside Reaper? Record, sequence, mix?
