Just pulled my new (well, refurb) macbook out of the box and installed the preview build before doing nearly anything else. Everything looks great so of course I started futzing with stuff to see if I could make it crash. Took me about 2 minutes.

Every time I click in the box for 'Meter Update Frequency' I get a pinwheel, sluggishness, and eventual crash. Here's the log.

BTW, terribly excited about using Reaper on my new mac. Can't wait for everything to be ironed out.

Also, can I use my license on my laptop and desktop or do I need to purchase a separate key for each computer? (non-com license)

Yeah i can confirm this.

I experienced this problem repeatedly, but somehow managed to work my way around it. I can't remember how though.

Just out of curiosity, why don't those meters have a default higher meter update frequency? It looks so much nicer when you first boot the program to have it up higher. Surely it can't be THAT much of a performance decrease?

seriously. the lag in update is (maybe I'm crazy) visible to me. so, first things first I go and change it. but in this case... crashxor.

Maybe you just entered "stupid" values into it (which your machine might not be able to handle)?

I've set mine to 40Hz and it works smooth and fine. Just tested it with even 200Hz -> still no crash or something ...

EDIT: Sorry guys, now I saw that we're in the OS X forum :)

I just can speek for Windows XP ...

just tried it here, all fine. even up to 500hz. cpu jumps to about 22%, usually around 16.

BTW, I'm running intel macbook pro, 1.83 ghz, 1.5 gig RAM, mbox 2, ilok.

I can't confirm this either, sorry. I too can take it up to 500hz without a hitch.

I'm running 2.4ghz macbook with 4GB ram tho...

Running a Macbook 2.4 with 2g ram. Sill happening. Wait, what's this I see? 2.4rc0? I'll dl and post.

Edit: Don't remember changing a thing, but the problem has vanished (without the dl-ing 2.4rc0). No more crashxor.
