I purchased reaper for my PC back a few months ago. Now I recently purchased a mac mini and I was just wondering. Do I have to purchase the OS X version after I've already paid the 50 dollars for the PC version?

I read in the forums that you do NOT need to purchase a new license.

As per official Reaper purchase page:

"Purchasing a license for REAPER v2.x entitles the user to use, on one computer at a time, past and future versions of REAPER up to and including v3.99."

Does that mean I have to de-authorize Reaper from one of my machines?
I'm in a somewhat similar situation. My home studio is PC-based, but tonight I decided to try Reaper on my Mac laptop, just to check this new beta, works like a beauty. I only use the laptop when I'm away on business/vacations, so I would love to have Reaper with me, if there's a sudden bout of inspiration. I don't mind paying extra 50 bucks, but just wondering whether my situation constitutes "one computer at a time". Technically, it does, but I'm not sure about legal side of it...

The terms are a bit vague. I like to think of it as a "per seat" license, meaning as long as only one person at a time operate it, it is compliant to the license. Most software license respect this modus operandi. If it was really per machine, how would you be able to use the "ReaMote" feature? Or you'd need a license for each ReaMote nod?

So, in my view, if I'm the only one using Reaper, I think one license suffice for both laptop and workstation. Of course, if, say, my wife, my nephew (or an employee in the case of commercial license) was going to work on the laptop while I'm doing stuff on the workstation, another license would be needed for her/him (a second "seat").

All IMO of course, and subject to clarification from Cockos personnel.

Thanks bullshark!
I hope that Justin will find time to have his final word on this issue though, just to be sure
