In Windows I can select notes, than with ctrl & left mouse drag a copy. That does not work for me in OSX. Why?

Try it with Cmd+drag and using 2.46 ? (in 2.45 this didnt work but it should be fixed for 2.46).

use *option*-drag for copy procedures, from the Finder to Logic to Protools to Photoshop. I'm just sayin' :D

That works in Track Window to make copies but not in Midi Editor.

i think it was my mistake. in the last times i only copied the reaper.app to applications/reaper.
this time i copied the complete reaper directory from the dmg to applications and now it works.
what must be copied if a new version comes out? to safe the color themes...

I just open the respective REAPER folders in both the install dmg and my own REAPER folder, "select all" on the first, shift-click to deselect the "Themes" folder, drag them across and click "replace".

[Windows handles processes like this somewhat more elegantly; faced with dragging a folder over an identically named folder, Windows gives you the choice of merging the new files in the first with the old files in the second. Mac doesn't provide this option, so you need to take a bit more care in installing if you don't want to wipe your themes out with each new version. Windows users using Macs for the first time are often staggered by this the first time they discover it, and unfortunately they usually discover it by wiping out something important.]
