Thanks for clicking. I used to do a lot of multitrack location recording but have been out of the loop for a good while (started in analog days). I'm going to be doing some shows that are using AVID S6L. I also haven't used Pro Tools in a long time and don't intend to. I think it's not required for basic multitrack recording. It would be easiest for me to use Reaper as that's been my main DAW for at least ten years. I've never used the AVB but it sounds like it's feasible with a Retina MacBookPro and Thunderbolt Ethernet adapter. Requires some configuration in Audio MIDI Setup I gather.

So has anyone happened to have done any tracking with this console in this way? Thanks for any confirmation and insights. Much appreciated.

necro reply!
I do it all the time. I use a TB3 Sonnet AVB gigabit ethernet adapter. The console sometimes complains of CRC errors using a regular CAT5 cable, use a quality shielded CAT6 or higher.

- audio midi setup
- network device browser; click the E6L engine checkmark
- this creates a 64ch core audio device, which you can edit to support 128ch at 24/96kHz
- bi-directional for virtual soundcheck (just route every input to the same output)
