Take envelopes for midi items

G'day.

I've just started messing around with take automation and find that while it works fine for audio media items, it doesn't seem to be happening for midi items. I can draw the envelope fine but it doesn't seem to have any affect. Can anyone else confirm this or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

What I'd like to do is set up a midi item with it's own unique volume envelope and then throw/copy that around wherever with the volume envelope staying with it. I can't seem to do it with the track volume envelope when copying, though it is possible to make the envelope points move with the item when dragging it.

Any chance of a word from the developers on this one. A bug, or normal behaviour?

if you enable the toolbar icon Move envelope points with media items then the track envelope point will move with the items - right up to the part when you copy and paste, or ctrl+drag. :(

this is a long time pain the nether regions that, IMHO is a bug whose squashing is long past due.

if that toolbar icon is lit, then, IMHO, all envelop points that land beneath an item should move AND COPY AND DRAG AND PASTE with it. Really, it feels like a feature that was left mid stream/mid-implementation.

Thanks for the reply Tallisman. I agree about the track envelope points. But there are also take specific envelopes (accessed through the takes contextual menu) that work fine for audio items (and stay with the items when copy-dragging or pasting) but seem to have no effect for midi items. Perhaps the next update...shouldn't be far away now.
