Hey guys,

I've posted about this three times in different threads. I've had a really bad bug with the last 3 versions of reaper.

Essentially the program crashes upon first pressing play in a session file. I have no idea what is causing this to happen. I'm using a behringer UCA202 as an external soundcard. I have a macbook pro 2.4ghz with 4gig of ram, and i'm only running reaplugs.

This crash is really severe. The strange thing is that occasionally the session files will play, especially if i move the marker around and don't play from the start. Is this a buffer issue?

I'd really like some help because i quite like using the program.

Crash report attached.

Cheers.

Just a hinch.. Does the crash happen on Macbook internal soundcard?

I think i've figured it out.

I deleted the reaper folder from my desktop. Re-dowloaded the latest version (2.51) and i ran the program from my desktop folder. Booted session file. The program started to open the sessions that i'd had trouble with without a hitch. Turns out that it WAS the buffer settings (somehow they got set to 100ms :$).

But here is the interesting thing. If i dock the reaper icon and run the program from the dock (as i was doing before) the program begins crashing again. It seems to default back to 100ms even though i've told it to run at default. Even if i change the settings it still crashes upon play. Every other version of reaper is deleted except the newest one.

If i redrag the reaper that works from the folder to make a shortcut in the dock it still suffers from these problems.

Can I suggest that if the session file is continually crashing due to ridiculously low buffer it tells the user and prompts them to change it? This would stop this from happening to anyone else.

Also can someone try to explain to me why this occured, and possibly fix it, cause i really love using the shortcut in my dock.

Cheers!

I think You should try dragging the whole Reaper folder to the Applications folder. I think that will create setup files or something. Worth a shot.
