I havnt learned how to use the shup thing.. so here is the link... should pop right up in a player... http://www.reverbnation.com/tunepak/1326402

Checking in with the next pre-mastered song. Do you guys think it stands on its own...? sound incomplete or unfinished? Mix rough in areas..? Just sound plain dumb, confusing or incoherent...?

Thanks so much in advance for your thoughts and help!

The overall mix sounds a bit thin but it's late and I'm listening in phones. I'll have to stop back for another listen tomorrow on the monitors.

Seems like the composition could still use some more parts to it.

The parts that are there could come up a bit more.

What FX are in your master bus?

I had a chance to listen on the monitors and it still sounds thin.

Of course this is all subjective but here would be the general direction I would go in, if I were mixing....

Hey Scalerwave, thanks so much for taking the time to do an example mix.. it helps so much more than just describing something. After hearing it, Im realized how downright shrill my mix sounds. Something I changed for this recording was I tried to use Nyquist to notch out some frequency areas for enhancement. I might (did) have overstepped my mixing prowess.

I wont get back to the lab till mid. April for a re-mix... Ill try again. I think I really need to send my stuff to a mixing shoppe before I release it. Im feeling like after all the writing and tracking... Im plain 'tired' and need to pass the song to a different set of ears for mixing/mastering.
