Hi,

I'm looking for a trumpet line in one of my pieces, preferably muted. Would anyone like to contribute? That'd be great!

It's the quiet passages of the guitar line in this piece that I wanted to double:

hi- how long you got?!

i could do with a practice so could give it a go.. but its been a long while so the tone will suck for about a week, then it should smooth out.

as for doubling with the rather nice guitar - technical wizard i am not, but know what sounds ok -

any way of DL'in the tune?

here little example of something i contributed to a while back, track 8 - skip to ~2.40

I tried to make it 'not your usual trumpet bit', non-muted.

also check track 3 - incidental stuff, could be more stabby in hindsight.

Hey,

sounds nice. It would be great if you could give it a try. On reverbnation the song is not complete, so I'll give you another adress.

hi moio - am afraid that download button doesn't do anything.

haha - 'sounds nice' - its ok, more tone that technique..

if i can only come up with something inferior i won't bother you with it, but might get lucky.

with your guitar playing being excellent - the trumpet could do with not being too complex, just to compliment and add another texture etc. - which suits!

need a working link however first.. :)

its ok i have just direct recorded the clip into reaper - ;)

OK, here's an older version. Some minor differences, but the same theme.

Could you post the BPM and basic chord progression?

Moio,

Here is something I just laid down to see if this is the type of trumpet you are looking for. I just played what was in my head one take so its not perfect but was wondering if this is the tone and length of notes you were looking for. I only played in the part of the song I thought you were looking to place it.

cc85 - nice James Bond vibe there!
like a bond love scene.. yum.

i personally think the track could have that type of subtle longer note vibe on one section, then some shorter harder licks stuff elesewhere - could be a nice combo.

just a thought.

i'll continue to practice as this has got me guilty about not playing enough, pesky guitar gets all the attention

cool thanks, let me know where you would like trumpet throughout the song. Give the time(ex. 1:00-2:00) and I will play around with it and see what I can come up with.

great. actually the solo part that you've chosen is quite nice for a trumpet solo. you don't have to fill it out completely. there may be pauses and lots of "quiet" notes.
how about doubling the first 12 notes that the guitar plays? would that be too difficult?

thanks again!

@stupeT: Its 90bpm. The chord progression is almost standard minor blues, I just exchanged the II m7b5-Chord against the Fmaj (Am6/Dm9/Am6/Am6 - Dm9/Dm9/Am6/Am6 - Fmaj9/11 / E7#9 etc.

If your talking the 12 guitar notes after the trumpet, I will give it a shot. Not sure how fluent it will sound but I will try.
