OK, this is the definition of nitpick...but you gave us this place so im gonna use it....lol. :)

The metronome is playing a fraction of a millisecond of the start of the next beat on the end of an item at the end of a project, it sounds like a glitch.

...and if you move an item past the end of the project then back a few bars, it plays to the end position of the first move(with stop at end of project enabled). Can it stop at the end of the last item instead.

yeah, it's a bug. seems reaper needs to much time to "update" to the new project-lenght.
