..has always been a pain in Reaper.
Now that Search has beeen added to 'Edit' its a little better but the search button was what I looked for automatically on the first page right from the start. So the first page isn't really usefull for anything.
On the other hand when you go into 'Edit' and start searching for a function, you see the available functions but not the keys already assigned.
I find this unnecessarily difficult to manage - lots of guess work involved.

I prefere things on one page - see all (assigned and unassigned)
Search = like in the VST FX window any word, its great.

Cheers

(Trouble with 'Windows' is you get to many of them)

Yes, instead of two windows, it would be nice to just show/hide unmapped keycommands.

I can't see any reason to have two windows for this. It would also be really helpful to be able to rename macros of more than one step. And have macros with mre than 3 steps.

Oh hell, this is getting out of hand.

Look at it from an everyday perspective.

You're looking to attach a key or midi message to a command. First you need to find it. In a big ass list.

This is a UI thing that just needs more time to develop.

Right-click in the menu drop down to attach to a key ? How about that ?
