I managed to reflash my oem bios as the latest generic msi. I upgraded all the motherboard drivers. I got it to take an upgrade to a x2 3800. My oem install didn't even make me reauthorize it. However my firewire interface is not working correctly now. I look at the driver date and it says 2001. I have a TI OHCI Card. I can't find an update for it. Can someone look at their working TI card on a dual core and see if the driver is newer?
I enabled the onboard sound just to test and man this thing smokes now. I must have had something funky before because my performance meter is down by 2/3 as compared to my old athlon 64 3200.
Never mind, I guess some IRQs changed on the install. Moved the firewire card to new slot BINGO
