I agree. Dropping a FX chain or a plugin DLL on the arrangement should create an audio track with these plugins loaded.

this is very good to organize plugins, for ever.
don't have to worry about uninstall/reinstall reaper or any other DAW.
you simply orgnaize them on your HD, and drop them from any explorer.

you can also create your presets folders...

Good call.

Can we copy fx chains by click+dragging the FX buttons to other tracks ? If not, please tack that on to the FR. I think it belongs there.

indeed. however, to be able to drag`n drop dll`s into reaper is nice for sure (i use it in energy all thetime), but i am all for being able to organise the plugins via tagging or som sort of reaper-internal database, so i actually am _not _forced to have the organisation done on installation level ...there`s several advantages that you could have when doing it databased internal (such as being able to have a certain plugin in different folders, i.e. a compresor-limiter can be in a compressor _and_ in a limiter folder/tag, etc.) ...

edit:

oops, i accidentially posted this to the wrong thread, sorry ... it should be here ...

i know,
that's why i sayed presets.
you can make your own folders from presets.
organize them any way you want.

you don't depend on nothing, don't have to worry of new/re-installations

i for example used to have at least 2 partitions,
one for OS/programs.

one for my data base.

i could reformat my first partition,
with ever worry about losing data, settings etc...

EDIT: this is not my idea,
the idea to make folders from presets, i learned form FL studio.
that's the way they organize their plugins, with beautiful images.

i saw this
on top of the elevated FR, but i think, my FR solves this problems + some more.
you also can have your own navigator to browse plugins,
and then simply drop them on your project.

vote for it
