Media peak overview above 0dB for 32/64-bit FP files
Enable accurate peak overviews above 0dB for 32/64-bit FP audio files
No discussion thread is necessary for this, but here is one anyway
The way it is nowI render out a lot of audio stems for online video. 32-bit floating point Wavpack files are an efficient way to store them without any limiting having to be applied to them.
Reapers peak overview of such audio files does not display any audio above 0 dB however, which reveals itself when you pull down the item volume.
This in itself is critical, but it's inaccurate.
RequestEnable, if possible, peak overviews that display content above 0 dB in floating point audio files.
I'm hopeful you're using floating point data already anyway, but if this is too big a shift and cannot be done currently, it won't be a bad thing, hence the lower priority I chose for this request.

This is a limitation of the reapeaks file format, so it's not easily updated without breaking compatibility...

So maybe just an action like "Rebuilt peak at item level" would be efficient at the moment

Better would be to add read support for a FP reapeaks now, and then later on add support for writing it (for FP files).

That's what I suspected. Maybe it's a good v5 candidate if much is on your plate right now. I certainly won't mind.
