Relative folder for peak files and render files
So the peak and render files can be stored with the song but in seperate folders to original audio files

Basically what it says above.

This would make file management much easier, needs to have the "project clean" function reflect this too.

any other things that should be relative too? video files? rex files?

I would love to see it for project, audio and midi files.

project and audio already can be set up. just midi and the peaks still go to the same folder.

i have a related pending feature request:

http://forum.cockos.com/project.php?issueid=656

Could we agree on something like this:

Project settings - Path to save Media files: Media

D:\Media\Peaks\example.reapeak
D:\Media\MIDI\example.mid
D:\Media\Metronome\example.wav
D:\Media\ReaVerb\example.wav
D:\Media\ReaSamplOmatic5000\example.wav

Audio would go straight into "Media" as it otherwise would be an empty folder with those other subfolders.

and I'd add:

D:\Media\Stems\example - stems.wav
D:\Media\Undo History\example.RPP-UNDO

Yes. And a similar FR... apply this to the Media Explorer as well (no peak files alongside the audio files).

I'd prefer something like this:

\ProjectName\projectname.rpp
\ProjectName\Media\example.wav
\ProjectName\Peaks\example.reapeak
\ProjectName\MIDI\example.mid
\ProjectName\Stems\example - stems.wav
\ProjectName\Undo History\example.RPP-UNDO
\ProjectName\Metronome\example.wav
\ProjectName\ReaVerb\example.wav
\ProjectName\ReaSamplOmatic5000\example.wav

Either solution is fine. I think we just need some organization in our Projects' Folders :D

A BIG yes! It is tedious to see how the files are splattered on my friends computer. He's a beginner with computers, and has all set to defaults. His Program Files/REAPER -directory had several hundred files.

I would go further and add

\ProjectName\Rendered\ProjectName.wav

That would be the default location for rendered files, unless rendered to somewhere else.

basically this is asking to add more relative (or not) paths for more types of files, to clarify. good idea.

Shouldn't the title of this FR be renamed to:

"Project structure per type" or something along this line?
