Sorry to hear. This isn't likely to be a Reaper problem, did you try to re-download the installer for both versions? What version are you referring to?

This is not the appropriate place to address such issues/questions. I suggest you to try asking this here. We can't move issues from the Issue Tracker to Forums or viceversa.

Thanks

i have downloaded both versions and i get the same error ive used two sepreate operating systems (XP and Vista) on three seperate P.C.'s (two of them had XP. one had SP2 ad the other SP3). they all give me the same error. it has to be a reaper error.

ive figured out the prblm. you cannot save the setup.exe file and use it on another computer. instead, you must run it then after it is installed. copy it from the HD to an external memory source, then take the entire program to the other P.C. i needed to do this because i required the program in my bedroom wich does not have internet hooked up. thanks to you who tried to help!!!

I'm glad your problem is solved, but certainly you can run reaper3xx-install.exe on a different machine from the one it was downloaded onto, assuming you're not trying to run the 64-bit installer on a 32-bit operating system or something.

I had this problem repeatedly and it was very strange. I downloaded the file multiple times; I thought corrupt downloads went away in the 1990's. Same thing happened tonight, but I continued trying to download it until I got an instance that works.

I suggest there is some bad version of the file on Cockos servers, or maybe it's cached somewhere. I don't know how that side of the internet works.

Here is the version that does not run:
OK
Files: 1
Folders: 0
Size: 6107236 bytes
CRC checksum for data: 756C09DF
CRC checksum for data and names: 1FD85F38
SHA-256: F3C6921B2283BA1C4F8B291BFCF0D3B152425275BD40922A57 7FB649AC9A466E

Here is the version that runs:
OK
Files: 1
Folders: 0
Size: 6107236 bytes
CRC checksum for data: 5F0929B8
CRC checksum for data and names: 74F4B325

Hope that helps.

I think the problem is that the download confounds DAP.
Only file I've ever had that I know of that does this.
If you turn off DAP and download with Windows, it does not corrupt the file.
No one here cares, but in case someone googles this, maybe it will help.
