Can't see a use for reload myself but replace is a long time coming
Same goes for FX chains which should by any stretch of the imagination be held within a single container so that not only can you use replace but also delete an entire chain easily NAS |

Absolutely. Would streamline things a bit more.

I just found myself in a need to replace a plugin, because I want to keep the Plugin Pin Connector settings...
replace + keep routings... |

Since there is no discussion topic, I'll add here:
It may come handy to also feature a 'proxy' option, which would store the original FX data and give you an option to use an alternative FX. (After Effects use such system for footage) This would be handy when switching between different systems and going to other studios, especially with portable version, so that there is always an available plug-in. Another great use would be AU vs. VST config, so when switching between PC and MAC (if not using mac VST versions) the system would automatically load the available alternative. I know it's possible to simply add another plug-in, and bypass- or offline it. But with long chains this would be a better internal way of sorting the plug-in availability/alternatives. Thinking out loud. e |

I'd like to add that some plugins need a reload after a sample rate change or internal setting change.

Control-doubleclick on the FX checkbox in the FX chain window will reload the FX (offline and un-offline it).
