Reaper causing ViennaEnsemblePro playback delay
Reaper is telling Vienna Ensemble Pro to restart its engine upon playback. This brief stop/start of VEPs engine becomes very noticible with multiple instances of VEP loaded. As VEP is designed for multiple instances (orchestral templates for example)

Set-up:

A slave machine running Vienna Ensemble Pro Server to host sample libraries.
Reaper running on main computer hosting Vienna Ensemble Pro connecting via LAN. Issue is reproducable running VEP Server locally too.

Upon pressing play, Reaper forces Vienna Ensemble Pro (VEP) to restart its engine resulting in a delay before playback begins (no instant playback possible with multiple instances of VEP).

This brief stop/start of VEPs engine becomes very noticeable with multiple instances of VEP loaded.

Moderators have suggested changing certain settings, however non of them have worked. Please see:

There are also other users confirming the issue in the bug report user area:

I have found that when the option "Flush FX on Stop" the same behaviour is noticeable when playback is stopped: each instance of VEP restarts its engine and there is a delay in Reaper before Reaper is operable. Perhaps then an option to not flush FX on start for certain plugins would solve the issue?

A user also presented this is an issue with some plugins.

Many thanks
