FR: Bypass button should kill VSTi's hanging notes
bypassing a VSTi should send an all-sound-off to it
Play a midi file through ReaSynth, either directly in the track or via media explorer. If there are sustain pedal messages in the midi file, and if you stop playback after a sustain-on message and before the sustain-off message, ReaSynth will keep sounding notes. This also happens with Pianoteq and other VSTi's. For some reason Reaper/Preferences/Audio/MidiDevices/"send all-notes-off on stop/play" doesn't help.
This behavior is somewhat to be expected and might even be useful sometimes. But usually it's very annoying, and you want to shut off that racket! So you click the FX disable or bypass button (either the effect's button or the track's button). But then you unbypass it and the sound starts right up again. You have to actually remove the VSTi and re-install it to kill the sound.
Solution: bypassing a VSTi also sends an all-sound-off message to the VSTi.
