Implement containers for audio events to simplify arrangement
Simplify the arrangement of complex audio loops made up of several samples

Cubase had a really cool way of grouping audio samples into a container event. This allowed me to take, say a 4-bar loop of a complicated drum hits, and surround it in a container which I could then drag around and duplicate. This made arrangement easy and cleaned up the amount of clutter in the arrange window.

Some other ideas:

-In Cubase, the act of gluing two audio events would group them inside of a container, keeping the individual audio samples intact, as opposed to Reaper, which physically merges the two samples into a single sample. It would be nice to allow both.

-Rx2 files, when dragged into the project window, could by default, be grouped within a container.

-Opening a container (via double-click), could open up a new arrange window, containing a single audio lane. Here, samples can be manipulated with all of the standard arrange functions.

The exact implementation of this feature should probably be discussed, but the way Cubase does it would work for me.

This appears to be a duplicate of the FR mentioned in this older thread

+1
right now it's only inline editing for audio, and when it comes to small audio samples it would be more convenient to have them glued in a container which could open just like a midi editor (you've implemented inline midi editor, why not do the opposite for audio - implement containers).
same goes to takes - there could be an option to put them into a container and open up with multiple lanes

This could start with something simple and be expanded along the way. Minimum is simply for placing and editing events in a container session. Maybe with a forced freeze when the editor is closed.
