I have tried logging the MIDI data with ReaControlMIDI and this turns out to be an error in handling the wrong byte of the CC messages sent, when the channel byte is meant to be different from 1.


When scrubbing in the MIDI editor
- A modwheel event (CC1) on channel 1 is sent as Channel 1 CC 1.
- A CC1 on channel 2 is sent as Channel 1 CC17 (16 added to the CC number)
- A CC1 on channel 3 is sent as Channel 1 CC33 (another 16 added to the CC number)
...
- A CC1 on channel 9 is sent as program change on channel 1

The same happens with all other CC messages on channels different from 1 which I tried. The offset is always 16 per channel.

So all CC messages are sent when scrubbing, but masked as a totally different CC number transmitted on channel 1. Hopefully a quite easy fix. I figure it very disturbing, when a scrub of modulation events scans through your devices' programs, or changes CC settings on channel 1 of CC numbers you didn't ever think about changing.

For now I recommend to be very careful to not scrub MIDI CC on any channel but 1.

I wish I could change the title/description for this, since I only described a symptom, but gofer revealed the real issue behind it.

Any chance someone could edit the title/description, or doesn't it matter? I just don't want it to slip under the radar.
