Time Selection Auto Punch doesn't work if Time Selection is < about 50ms

For some reason, if the Time Selection is less than about 50ms, Reaper will start recording right away in Time Selection Auto Punch mode instead of waiting until it reaches the time selection.

This is really getting in the way while trying to come up with a work around for the lack of a proper manual punch in mode :/

The minimum time selection for punching in is 2 samples.

Would you mind starting a thread in the forum to discuss why this is an issue? The bug tracker isn't the place for the conversation.

Ok here you go...

http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.p...247#post489247

Seems like a bug to me, 50ms is a HELL of a lot more than 2 samples, I'm at 44.1 and 50ms is 220 samples at that sample rate...

Can't reproduce this in 3.41pre10. REAPER properly does the punch recording. But the source file can become longer and there are some rounding issues.

Example here:

-> 1 ms timeselection (at 48kHz)
-> record timeselection

=> Timeselection filled with item

But:

1. Item lenght is slightly less than 1ms (0:00.000 shown in Item properties window instead of 0:00.001)

2. Setting timeselection to this new item also gives slightly smaller timeselection (says 0:00.000 instead of 0:00.001)

3. Source file lenght = 0:00.553 instead of 0:00.001
