When I write "the dialog" I mean you have to dbl click the "<enabled>"/"<disabled>" label and toggle the input device status from the dialog that opens.

Options->Preferences->MIDI devices->Configure Input.
1) Write an alias for the first MIDI input
2) Toggle the "Enable input for this device"
3) Click "OK"
4) Click again "Configure input"
5) Toggle the "Enable input for this device"
6) Click "OK"
At this point I loose the alias I wrote in step 1)
Tested on 2 different PCs, v3.07pre5.

Actually, no need to toggle the status; just enter/exit the dialog with "ok" and I loose the alias.

Ah ok, the checkboxes in the "Configure Input" dialog itself do that. As a "workaround", use the "Enable input" and "Enable input for..." checkmarks in the right-click context menu instead, they shouldn't reset your alias.
