TL;DR **Updating AVAST to latest Engine (17.4.3482.0) cured it here**

Win 7x64 here and a 6i6 that last Saturday stopped passing audio, playhead stuck or moving too fast/slow etc. in Reaper.

At that time there were no other reports of issues on the net so I raised it direct with Focusrite support who were truly *excellent*. Tried full reinstall, then upgrade to 3.1.1.0 beta drivers but no change. Then ended up using the 3.2.2. beta drivers and the 1.9 MixControl software but still no joy so captured and sent in crash logs at their request.

Simply disabling Avast didn't help, it was one of the first things I tried.

It seems Avast realised the issue and the latest version of the engine has cured all my issues and the 6i6 is passing audio and behaving normally again.
