Kind of serious undo/settings interaction bug
This has now happened twice to me (but twice across 2 different sessions on 2 different days), and I think I now know how to reproduce it:
- Project is set up as:
* Record mode: Normal
* New recording which overlaps existing media items > Add lanes
* ...> When not adding lanes... > Split existing items and add takes
This is my default, and is always set up this way for a new project. I have no keyboard commands mapped to any of these options.
What happens is:
* Start with a new track in normal mode (not yet in lanes mode)
* Record something into it
* Record something over the first recording. (REAPER correctly adds a new lane.)
* Undo
* Do it again
This will cause the following change to your settings:
* "Add lanes" is now unchecked;
* "Add media items in layers" was now checked.
If you don't have vertical offset for overlapping items enabled, you will be very confused now because only one item is visible.
I ended up in exactly this situation a week ago, and thought I had goofed up my prefs somehow, now I am going to declare it a bug.
Anyone else? I'm on macOS 13.6.2 on an M2 in case it matters.
