I found your messages using the link in your previous message here. (Alas, GitHub did not send a Mail, as you wrote it...)
I see: editing only is possible, when a pull request is open.
That to me is perfectly conter-intuitive, as a "pull request" to me seemed to be the means to notify the system (and you) that there is something that might be viable for publishing, and this obviously should be done after editing out known errors. .
Now trying ....
