- Go to Options > Preferences > Audio > Device.
- Set the audio system to ASIO.
- Set the ASIO driver to your device.
- Click the ASIO configuration button to bring up a window for changing settings for your audio device, and find the buffer setting. 256 samples is usually an ok middle of the road starting point for the buffer setting. The panel may show the buffer setting in milliseconds (ms) instead of samples. If that is the case, you might start with something like 10 ms. Either way, the lower this setting is, the lower the latency but the higher chance for clicks and droputs due to the computer not being optimized for low latency audio performance.
