Well, if it's dB then it's a logarithm and adding log magnitude is the equivalent of multiplying magnitude (take my 0.5 x 0.5 = 0.25 example—equivalent to -6 dB + - 6 dB = -12 dB). Or multiple the complex results of the frequency responses, then take magnitude and phase.
