I find the JS Delay w/Chorus to be pretty effective. Using it on some Jaco passages at the moment with the following setting:
Delay 80ms
Feedback -20db
Output Wet(Chorus) -6db
Output Wet (Clean) -6db
Output Dry 0db
Chorus Period 400ms
Chorus Length 2ms
Subtle but makes the fretless sound nice.
